Gluten-free guide to Barcelona

Barcelona is one of Spain's easiest cities for gluten-free dining, especially thanks to bakeries, pizzerias and restaurants accredited by the Associació Celíacs de Catalunya. The Catalan association pioneered coeliac support in Spain and runs a catering project that checks protocols, training and safe handling. The city is tourist-friendly and cosmopolitan, so adapted menus appear across many cuisines, but mixed kitchens with high volume still need careful questions about grills, bread and shared utensils. For coeliacs, the key difference is whether a venue merely offers gluten-free options or is prepared to manage traces.
